But in fact, they are from the author whose birthday we remember on this date, Alexander Pope.
Pope has been called one of the most quoted writers in the English language.
Oh, yeah…
And he was something of a Poet, as well.
In much the same way that the Kentucky Derby is something of a horse race…

It’s been a long time since I have read anything by Alexander Pope. I guess I need to mend my ways. I was surprised that all of these quotes are by him. Thanks for an eye-opener!

Nice article. In class 8, i had read some couplets of Alexander pope. He writes about life and does it amazingly.

Just happened to be reading Pope’s “Ode On Solitude” this morning, and have been lately into his collected works. A truly fine poet and a great mind. Apparently, also, especially in his dealings with fellow writers, he was a really cantankerous S.O.B…

Of course religious prejudice, a shortened stature and a hunchback probably didn’t have anything much to do with a cranky nature…
