Kinkaku-ji…

… or, as it’s more commonly known on this side of the planet, the Golden Pavilion… Quite possibly the most famous building in Japan, and certainly in Kyoto, this dates back some ten or eleven years. The picture, I mean… The pavilion itself dates from the end of the 14th century. Although the original burned down in the 1950’s… So this would be Kinkaku-ji 2.0… I was in Japan for work, and had a period of time where I was not required to be present. So I went walk-about… I spent the better part of almost two weeks in Kyoto and the surrounding areas, photographing my dang fool head off.   One of the happier times of my entire life…       Advertisements
