An example of a death mask…

… from the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City. Or the Museo Nacional de Antropologia, for those of you typing in Spanish… One of the truly great museums of the world. You can read a bit about it here… It’s astonishing how many artifacts they have there, and how committed to preserving it all Mexico is… all from a period that would have faded into obscurity long ago but for their efforts. I love this museum, and go there every time I’m in MC… I cannot recommend it highly enough.. Especially to those of you with curious minds…

What a beauty…

… from a by-gone era… That right there, my friends, is a 1953 Cadillac LeMans convertible… Sitting in a showroom in (of all places) New York city… in spite of the California plates. Now, before all you wise-acres get your keyboards all fired up, to talk about how I probably was already well into retirement age before these beauties were released, I’ll have you know (I’ll have you know) that these came along long before I did.
