Lot’s of color about…

Just not a whole lot of clear sky to go along with it… So, here we are, smack-dab in the middle of the height of galaxy-spotting season… astronomically-wise speaking… and I have yet to get the first attempt in… While the weather has been warmer – and by a long shot – the clouds haven’t co-operated at all! Every time I get to one of my old standby shooting spots, the clouds have, by then, decided just what the weather forecasters can go and do with their “predictions”, and their “gonna be a great night’s”, and their “get outside and enjoy the evening’s”… ad infinitum… It’s becoming quite frustrating, photographically-wise speaking… And I know I should be grateful for the ability to stay outside without a propane heater the size of San Bernardino county (which is the largest county in the U.S., by area… (The largest USED to be in Georgia, if memory serves… (but memory just ain’t as interested in the service industry as she used to be… speaking-wise speaking…)))* *[A prenthetical triplet… With …

Eternally yours…

A view form a hill just north of the Forbidden City, in Beijing, China. From Jingshan Park, if memory serves… This is a view of the north gate… in the far distance you might be able to make out the southernmost gate of the city; and on the other side of that is Tiananmen Square… I swear to you I could spend a month in the Forbidden City, shooting with a different lens, all day, every day, and still not do this place justice, photographically… The way the light strikes the various surfaces, and always shifting… The people… The museums…   It is truly a marvel…

Wishing I was there…

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, I got to go to Greece for about 5 or 6 days… for work… Well, my work involves a great deal of physicality and chutzpah, so after we were done setting up, but before the gig, I climbed to the top of the structure we’d built and captured the above… and many more besides… Something about the romance of the Mediterranean, coupled with the scenery, made it all seem terribly adventurous to me… And as you can see… My love affair with sunsets goes way back…

The Great Wall…

I’m sure I’ve shared this, in one form or another, before… but I can’t find it now But with work so dastardly busy these days (… that’s Mr. Dastardly, to you…) I just haven’t had the time or the energy to post anything of substance… … if I ever did… So it’s a (maybe… I sure as heck don’t know right at this precise moment…) oldie but a goodie…   The Great Wall of China… right at the beginning of Spring…   I must now sleep, for the morrow comes much too quickly… And not even sneaking in on little silky soft bunny slippers, either… More of a Lord of the Dance meets the Kansas City Cloggers of repute, with a healthy dose of flat-footed elephants stamping out flaming ducks kind of aggressive toe-tapping… For somebody what ain’t making any music, we sure are beating out a mess of time, these days…   If you know what I mean by all of that…
