What the…?

April Fools… … a day late… So, I got up this morning to some five or six inches of the white stuff… And we’re not referring to the sand of a pristine tropical beach, here… Nor are we talking about a newly minted stack of printer paper, either… The equinox was a coupla’ two tree weeks back that away (⬅ that way, if anyone’s counting…) Advertisements

Moody…

… and not in a good way… We are currently in the middle of the first snow of our season. I’ve just come in from the first shoveling of said snow… It’s now after sunset, and unless I turn on some lights… “What are you trying to do, light up the entire neighborhood when I was your age we had to shovel snow 5 miles uphill both ways what were you raised in a barn somebody better start turning off some lights when they leave the room or there’s gonna be a whole lot of unhappy people around here come Christmas…” *ahem* I say, the snow isn’t scheduled to stop until around midnight, so it there’s anything worth taking a photo of, I’ll get it in the morning… Meanwhile, a picture with some sunlight in it… Even if it is a moody light…

Well… you know…

Since we appear to be in absolutely no danger (at least not around here, we’re not) of seeing the sun at all today… And since it is a Monday, after all (at least around here, it is)… A little something something to take your minds on wind-blown flights of fancy…   As it were….   It’s been cloudy and overcast, with intermittent rain, for the better part of going on five days, now. I am ready for some sun…!   On the plus side, all but the most massive piles of snow are now gone… so there’s that to be said for the rain…

Where’s the title…?

No birthdays to celebrate with this post… Not that there aren’t enough to go around. I just don’t feel the celebratory spirit moving me today… Not so much. The snow and ice, despite day after day of above freezing temperatures, and rain, doesn’t seem willing to let go just yet. It can’t seem to understand that it’s time has come and gone. And that if I don’t get some frickin’ Spring action kickin’ up it’s heels around here – pronto – there’s gonna be tàh-rubble… Image found here.
