So tired…

It’s one of the insanely busy times for work… And I haven’t been to the blog for a week… I’m doing this post at 5am, local time. That’s my only available time. Only two more to go. Weeks, that is… One day at a time… One day at a time. Sleep is currently now something to be jealously guarded. No socializing after work… No extra-ciricular activities… Must… rest… eyes…           Advertisements

A quick note…

One of the problems with this time of year, is that the light is going away, bit by bit. Just as life seems to get ridiculously busy about now. This is a time when we could use more light, but we get less. I wonder if the seemingly backwards-ness of it all is a throw back to an agrarian ancestry we may no longer practice, but perhaps still feel in our bones. But it’s Labor day here in the states, which oddly enough we celebrate by doing no labor at all. Or most of us do. There are those, like moi, who always seem to get really busy on holidays, just as others are cooling their jets for a bit… which never has seemed especially fair. But I do not complain; I merely observe. Work on holidays is infinitely preferable to no work at all. Capisce?

Fog…

Please forgive the lack of substance, and the need to insert quotes by other people a bit more often than is normal for me. Work has been more unsettled than usual, with week long schedules of over-night-ers, followed by a day shift, and now back to the nights. It’s all been terribly confusing for my biological clock, and I often feel like I’m wandering around in a fog. Which makes for some terribly unenlightened and/or downright boring ideas for original writing. I sometimes even forget I have a blog that needs updating. I’ll try and get some things in the works – though I make no promises. It’s amazing how a little thing like flopping your schedule around feels so much like jet lag. And by ‘amazing’, I mean that it just really kinda totally sucks…

Captain Habitual

Oh, man, what a week… The days came and they went, and a full lunar blood moon eclipse type thingy came, and it went, and I kinda missed them all. Work this week was all done at night. It happens. Things have to get done. But people traipsing all over the place would be distracting and unproductive, and quite possibly a bit dangerous. So you do it when there isn’t anyone around. But that means that your normal functions – your ‘clock’, as it were, gets sorta messed up… It’s dark outside. I should be asleep. But I’m not… I’m working…
